# Keep Apart > A playful thinking aid for an everyday clash between two of your own wants. Instead of choosing one, separate them: give each want its own time, place, situation or part of the thing. URL: https://keep-apart.skillsafe.ai/ API tutorial: https://keep-apart.skillsafe.ai/api.html ## What it does - You write two wants that seem to cancel each other out, plus (optionally) where they collide and what you tried. - You answer four questions: do you need both at the same time, in the same place, in every situation, for the whole thing? A "yes" shuts that separation; "no" or "not sure" leaves it open. - The page reads your words for clue words and picks a verdict by a fixed rule: the first open separation (time, place, condition, parts) with a clue word, else the first open one; if all four are shut, "a real trade-off". - It draws a four-ring trap holding the two wants apart, free and in the browser, with .svg and .png downloads. - One metered run (task `separate`, model gpt-terra) names the clash, writes an idea per open separation, and a short plan saying what each want keeps. The page re-checks the reply against your answers. ## Input contract (all strings) task = "separate"; want_a; want_b; clash; tried; checks (four lines: separation, open or closed, your answer, clue words); verdict (split-time, split-place, split-condition, split-parts or trade-off). ## Output contract (JSON) verdict; clash; separations (time, place, condition, parts - each with state and idea); resolution (name, steps, keeps_a, keeps_b); first_try; watch_for; closing. ## Sources and credits - Built on the SkillSafe skill @tjboudreaux/thinking-triz: https://skillsafe.ai/skill/@tjboudreaux/thinking-triz - The separation idea comes from TRIZ, a problem-solving approach for contradictions. - Inspired by the way physicists keep antimatter from touching matter: each is held in its own part of a trap.
